National translator network

More than 1,000 eminent translators have been associated with the Institute.

Translator conferences

Conferences have been conducted to discuss the work and development needed in translation.

Training and education

More than 400 students have already received training in translation.

Shabdakosha software

Software was developed to help prepare dictionaries and glossaries and was released as free software.

Consultant network

The Institute initiated recruitment of more than 500 translation consultants across India and received a strong response.

Several plans have been prepared to improve the quality of translation work.

ADDITIONAL WORK

Terminology, institutional work and document certification

  • A programme was started to publish a series of Kannada terminological dictionaries; ten dictionaries have been prepared.
  • Translation work from government institutions, central government departments, companies, private organizations and international sources has been handled.
  • Translation quality and verification certificates are provided for documents submitted to insurance companies, foreign universities, courts including the Supreme Court, and foreign embassies.
  • A committee of eminent people working in translation has been formed to analyse and develop new technical terminology.
  • Several translators have earned significant income by participating in the Institute's translation activities.
Certification and document services
Future direction: The Institute plans to conduct translation workshops across the country, establish translation centres in different parts of the state, organize translation-related competitions and provide support intended to improve translators' economic well-being.
